Call for Abstracts The 25th Annual Scientific Session of the AACA is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 2008 to Friday, July 18, 2008 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (for general meeting info click here). The Call for Abstracts can be downloaded in its entity by clicking here. It is abstracted below and smaller .pdf downloads supply critical information for completing this electronically. The meeting format will include Platform, Poster and Techfair presentations: Platform Presentations: Individuals desiring to present from the platform should be aware that platform time is extremely limited. The Program Secretary and the Program Committee will make all decisions related to requests for platform presentations - ie. thematically arranged etc. Others will be bumped to poster format. Poster presentations will form the majority of the meeting format. Abstracts for platform presentations can be submitted from this site by filling out the form below. Please print out the Instructions for Abstract Preparation linked to this page in .pdf format prior to pasting your abstract into the space provided. This link will open a .pdf document telling how to simply send your abstract and accompanying required information, to the Program Secretary by email. The deadline for submission of abstracts for platform presentation is April 1, 2008. Poster Presentations: Abstracts for poster presentations can be submitted from this site by filling out the form below on this page. Please print out the Instructions for Abstract Preparation linked to this page in .pdf format prior to pasting your abstract into the space provided. This link will open a .pdf document telling how to simply send your abstract and accompanying required information, to the Program Secretary by email. Defined poster presentation times will be published in the Program so that interested individuals can schedule time to visit the posters with the author(s) present for discussion. Deadline for submission of poster presentation abstracts is April 1, 2008. Again this year.... AACA Techfair: This format will be a series of platform presentations of electronic programs (CD or web-based) either being developed, or currently developed and in use at various institutions. These presentations will be 10-12 minutes in length. Coupled with this will be an area set aside where each presenter will be located for a defined period of time so that interested attendees can stop by and get a "hands-on" demonstration of the program they demonstrated during the platform presentation. This is NOT intended to be a forum for further demonstration of software currently available - or just emerging - from book and/or software publishers. Participants in this form must stipulate they are not presenting material(s) currently available for purchase from national publishers/resellers. These materials are more appropriately demonstrated in the vendor area(s) of the meeting. Deadline for submission of TechFair presentation abstracts is April 1, 2008. Awards Competition: Executive Council of the Associtaion has created three award categories. Students/ residents/interns are eligible to participate in either of the Student Presentation Awards: for poster presentations the Sandy C. Marks, Jr. Poster Presentation Award, and for platform presentations, the Ralph Ger Platform Presentation Award. Both are $600 cash awards. The Sandy C. Marks Jr. Student Poster Presentation Award. The award is a certificate and a check for $600 to help defray travel expenses to the meeting. The Ralph Ger Student Platform Presentation Award.
