Postdoctoral Position in Anatomy and Evoluntionary Morphology - Stonybrook University

The Department of Anatomical Sciences, Stony Brook University invites applications for a postdoctoral position, with primary teaching responsibilities in human gross anatomy to health professional students.

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. and have taken and taught a dissection based human gross anatomy course. In addition to teaching, the occupant of this position will be expected to conduct research that complements the department's existing strengths in vertebrate paleontology, physical anthropology, functional morphology, or evolutionary morphology

.American University of the Caribbean

Clinical gross anatomist required at the American University of the Caribbean, in Sint Maarten, Netherland Antilles.  Sint Maarten is the Dutch side of an island shared also by France.  The island is about 150 miles from San Juan, Puerto Rico, near St. Thomas and St. Croix.  A splendid island, oriented to the tourist trade, with wonderful five-star restaurants, beautiful beaches, superb snorkeling, diving and so on. The medical school building and dorm are beautifully constructed.  The academic program is relatively traditional and the faculty is composed of individuals with strong medical university backgrounds (in many cases of both teaching and research) from excellent US medical schools.  Candidates should have a strong background in teaching, with documentation of teaching excellence. This is a lovely opportunity for a person to teach clinical gross anatomy.  Strength in other areas is, of course, an asset, but not an essential. Albert Einstein College of Medicine


A faculty level position is available for Course Director of Medical Histology.  This experienced medical educator will run a laboratory-based Medical Histology course and participate in related courses.  The main responsibility will be to direct an existing successful Histology course.  The duties will include hiring and training of laboratory faculty and staff, organizing the course materials, budgeting, updating and maintaining computer-based materials and the microscope slide collection, incorporating clinically relevant materials, and developing further integration with Pathology and other courses.  The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Course Director in Histology.  Prior teaching in Histology or Pathology is required.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. Position available for 2002-2003 academic year or later.

Vanderbilt University

The Departments of Cell and Developmental Biology and of Cancer Biology of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine invite applications for a funded faculty level teaching position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.  Responsibilities will include major teaching responsibilities in a full-dissection gross anatomy course (Fall Semester) and cell biology/histology course with microscope laboratory (Spring Semester) for first year medical students.  The successful applicant will also be expected to participate in mentoring and teaching of other departmental (graduate) students/courses within area of expertise/ experience as necessary, and to maintain an ongoing, productive program of scholarly activity, preferably in the area of anatomical education (e.g., development of anatomical instructional techniques and materials, CAI programs, etc.) at the extramural level.   Salary and award of tenure are dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine (PCSOM)
