Other Anatomical Meetings
Visit the Web Sites of our Sustaining Vendors Support Our New and Sustaining Vendors As most of you know, the AACA's annual Scientific Session is supported in great part by our contributing vendors. The list below contains the majority of our new and/or sustaining vendor companies. Why not visit the web site of those vendors to familiarize yourself with their full line of offerings and consider them first when purchasing materials as a way of showing them how we value their continued support.
BACA Summer Meeting, July 21-23rd, 2010 - University of Glasgow, UK The Summer Scientific Meeting will be held at the Laboratory of Human Anatomy, University of Glasgow on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd July 2010. BACA is looking forward to welcoming members of the Sociedad Anatómica Española to the meeting which will be hosted by Dr Stuart W. McDonald. For those able to stay an extra day, there will be a coach visit to Culzean Castle on Friday 23rd July. Full information, including accomodation requests, etc. can be found in this downloadable .pdf document.
Passport and Visa Information for International Registrants to an AACA Meeting International visitors must present a passport or other valid travel document when entering the United States. Visas are required for most travelers to the U.S. Increased security measures now require visa applications to undergo greater scrutiny than in the past. Because the application and review process can take considerable time, applicants are advised to apply as early as possible (at least 2-3 months) in advance of their travel date. If you need a visa, you must go to your closest U.S. visa-issuing post for an interview with a Department of State consular officer, which includes a review of your application and supporting documents, and collection of your biometrics (up to 10 digital fingerprints and a digital photograph). This site fully outlines these required documents/credentials. For more information on how long you will have to wait to get an interview appointment and for specific details on visa requirements and application procedures for your country of origin, please visit this site. Canadian citizens and citizens from Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries (currently, 35 countries; see list of countries) can come to the U.S. without a visa provided they meet certain passport requirements. Travelers from all VWP countries must obtain approval through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) prior to traveling to the U.S. Visitors may apply online for travel authorization via the ESTA web site at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov. As part of the arrival process into the U.S., all international visitors will experience US-VISIT biometric procedures (collection of digital fingerprints and photographs) prior to their entrance. Honolulu, Hawaii - July 19-23, 2010 The 27th meeting of the AACA will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii in July 2010. We will be meeting jointly with the International Society for Plastination and the AACA Postgraduate Course - held at the University of Hawaii on Saturday, July 24th, will be a hands-on plastination experience. Check out the official meeting web site for full information. 2nd International Symposium of Clinical and Applied Anatomy - Prague, July 9-11, 2010 The official website of the 2nd International Symposium of Clinical and Applied Anatomy - www.iscaa2010prague.cz is now ready for all those interested in attending. It contains all information about the Symposium including electronic registration and abstract forms. Should you have additional questions, not answered in the web site, please feel free to contact the organizing committee members under the "contacts" button of the site. They are looking forward to meeting you on July 9, 2010, in the beautiful capital of Czech Republic, in Prague. The AACA Program Secretary (Dr. Mark Seifert) will issue letters of invitation to those registered attendees who require them. Letters of invitation MUST be requested as early as possible. Last minute letters will only be expedited by courier at the expense of the individual requesting them. Interested in hosting an AACA annual meeting? Have you wondered what this involves? The .pdf documents linked below outline the preliminary information Executive Council of the AACA needs to have before it can accept an invitation to meet in your area. Why not think about hosting the AACA membership in your city? Our Meeting Manager (Ms. Julie Hewett) takes on the greater part of the responsibilities for hosting a meeting, making it a much less arduous task than it was 5 years ago.
